$150 Million Senior Living Community Coming Together Near Denver
Cappella Living Solutions will manage a $150 million senior living community under construction in Lakewood, Colorado.
The community, The Ridge Pinehurst, will have 318 independent living, assisted living and memory care apartment homes. The 15-acre site will have views of the Rocky Mountains, a nearby golf course and a lake. The community’s owner and developer is Ridge Senior Living.
Lantz-Boggio handled the project’s architectural design, Shaw Construction oversaw the build, and interior design is being handled by StudioSIX5.. Additionally, GlynnDevins is providing marketing support for the forthcoming community. If all goes according to plan, Ridge Pinehurst will welcome residents in the fall of 2019.
Vestcor Senior Living Breaks Ground for Florida Community
Workers with Roger B. Kennedy Construction recently broke ground for a new Vestcor Senior Living community in Tallahassee, Florida.
The three-story, 118-unit community will have independent living, assisted living and memory care services and consist of one 140,000 square foot building grouped by different care neighborhoods. Residents can dine at multiple venues with seasonal cuisine and a farm-to-table focus. Seniors can also take part in social, devotional, fitness and recreational activities.
The project was designed by Group 4 Design, and work is slated to wrap up in summer, 2019.
Groundbreaking Planned for Arizona Project
Foresight Senior Living Development and W.E. O’Neil will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on May 9 for Eternal Spring of Gilbert, a 95-unit assisted living and memory care community in Gilbert, Arizona.
Residents will have access to life-enriching activities and events such as cocktail hours or learning series. The community will also have a specially designed neighborhood to serve the needs of people living with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other forms of memory loss. Additionally, Eternal Spring of Gilbert will employ the Pathways program, a Montessori-based philosophy for care.
Big Rock Partners, LCS Open $82 Million CCRC Near Disney
Big Rock Partners and Life Care Services recently celebrated the opening of Windsor at Celebration, an $82 million rental continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in the master-planned, Disney-inspired town of Celebration, Florida.
Residents of the 239-unit community will be able to screen first-run films in a stadium-seating movie theater, view nearby Disney World’s nightly fireworks on the rooftop sky bar and scroll through 180 channels of DirecTV. Other amenities include an indoor aquatic center, fitness studio and a salon and spa.
Windsor also will closely interact with its neighbors in Celebration, a master-planned community known for its over-the-top holiday displays and initial development by The Walt Disney Company. That way, the community’s residents can get the same “Celebration experience” that people move thousands of miles to be part of.
Capitol Seniors Housing Overhauls Four Seattle Communities
Senior living investment and development firm Capitol Seniors Housing has completed major renovations on four of its senior living communities in the Seattle area.
The upgraded communities are: Northgate Plaza, an independent and assisted living community; Mountlake Terrace, an independent and assisted living community; The Creekside, an independent living and short-term care community; and Island House, an independent and assisted living community.
Renovations included new wine and coffee bistro areas, activity spaces, fitness rooms, game rooms and libraries. Interior work included new furniture, fixtures, flooring, paint, cabinets and lighting upgrades. Additionally, community exteriors received fresh paint and landscaping, and suites were given a facelift with new paint, flooring, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and light fixtures.
All of the communities are operated by MBK Senior Living, which is based in Irvine, California.
StoneGate Community in Texas Gets New Pathways Memory Care Wing
The Plaza at Richardson, a 126-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility managed by StoneGate Senior Living in Richardson, Texas, is celebrating a new 24-bed Pathways memory care wing.
The new memory care neighborhood will care for memory-impaired residents through a person-centered and social model concept in a home-like atmosphere, the company said. Services and features include a private secured exterior courtyard and specialty memory care programing with music, memory and aroma therapy.
The community also hired a new memory care director, three full-time nurses, and six full-time CNAs to care for the new expansion’s residents. The Plaza at Richardson Pathways Memory Care Neighborhood will accept private pay, Medicaid as well as Medicare, and will officially open after inspections.

Active Adult Community Now Open in Florida
Kolter Homes has opened its new 55+ active adult neighborhood, Cresswind at PGA Village Verano, in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Cresswind residents have access to their own private pool and pool house, PGA Village Verano’s social clubhouse and fitness center. Additional perks for residents include a pool; tennis, basketball and bocce ball courts; indoor junior olympic pool; and a 27-court pickleball facility that’s scheduled to open in winter, 2019.
Residents are also given a social membership to the PGA Golf Club along with golf cart access to its three courses and PGA Village clubhouse.
Each of Kolter’s seven Cresswind communities has dwellings that range in cost from $200,000 to $800,000 and come in a variety of floorplans and finishes.

— Local officials in Jacksonville, Florida, have given their blessing to plans for a 28,000-square-foot senior living community.
— After seven years in limbo, a senior living project that would include 20 patio homes is progressing in Lansing, New York.
— Port Jefferson Station, New York, is set to get a new 244-unit senior living project.
— The Penn Medicine Princeton Health campus in Plainsboro, New Jersey, plans to build 45 new active adult townhomes.
— A CCRC in Cary, North Carolina, is seeking to add to its campus 192 independent living apartments, 40 assisted living units and an adult day care.
— Voters in Solon, Ohio, are being asked to approve or deny a rezoning request that would pave the way for a new senior housing project with independent living, assisted living and memory care services.
— A developer is seeking to build a four-story, 40-unit senior living project in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
— A planned a mixed-use development in the St. Louis suburb of University City would include include an 88,000-square-foot, four-story senior living community.
— Construction is now underway for an 80-unit assisted living community in Boynton Beach, Florida.
— Workers are nearly done giving a $1.6 million facelift to an affordable apartment complex for seniors in Baltimore.
— Work has begun for a new 316-unit senior living project from Tradition Senior Living in Houston.
— Ryan Companies has started construction for a new 200,000-square-foot senior living project in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
— A Denver independent living community has begun working on a $10.1 million renovation that would add multiple dining venues, a movie theater, hair salon, spa and other upscale amenities.
— There’s a new senior living community with 164 units of independent living, assisted living and memory care in Fishers, Indiana.
— Non-profit provider Altenheim Senior Living has added memory care, assisted living and rehab facilities to its life plan community in Strongsville, Ohio.
